Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,
Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

number of feet required

Please help ..I need to run wire fencing around an area which measures 87,120 square feet. The fencing comes in rolls of 656 linear feet. Does anyone know how many linear feet are in one square foot? Or, how many 656 ft. rolls of wire I require? Thanks for your help.

If the shape is rectangular, you really need to know the length and width.
The area is l*w, and you have to know at least one plus the area to get the other. What you need is the perimeter, which is P = 2*(l + w). If it is not a rectangular shape, just add ALL the sides together, but you NEED the shape.
If the land is a square, it is 295.3' on a side and you need 1182 feet. In the absurd case of the land being 87120 feet long and 1 foot wide, you need 174242 feet.. Reality is some between, probably NOT halfway.
