The US Mint has only made these coins intermittantly. I assume you either have Morgan dollars, minted 1878-1904 and 1921. or you have Peace dollars, 1921-1928, 1934-1935. Both are 38.1 mm diameter, weigh 26.73 g, and are 90% Ag. The next minting was Eisenhower dollars beginning 1971.
10,000 coins would weigh 267.3 kg or about 590 lb.
(The modern dollar coins, starting with Susie B. are 26.5 mm dia, 8.1 g.
Wikipedia has an overview article on US dollar coins, plus a page on each style, with good specs. Google, as I can't post the link.
