Hi,
I have a 25 lb. bag of cat litter (type made of compressed paper). The bag's approximate dimensions are 20x13x9 for a volume of 2340 cubic inches. Based upon the mass of 25 lbs. and the volume, I calculated the density to be 0.01068.
What I am trying to figure out is the following: For my convenience, I use a U.S. 16 fluid oz. measuring cup (i.e., 2 cups or 1 pint) to take the litter out of the bag. Using that cup as a measure, I use approximately 3 cups of dry litter each day. How do I calculate (if I can), approximately how many days the 25 lb. bag will last?
I also just measured the daily amount of litter in a different way. It came to approximately 3.375 cups U.S dry measure. This may provide more useful information.
