I hope someone might be able to help. I need to know if anyone knows the size in microns of the lumen of an 18 gauge syringe needle, or any other unit of measurement that I can convert to microns.

I found a site at http://www.evergreen.edu/biophysics/technotes/fabric/syringe.htm that gave information on the dimensions of syringes based on their gauge. According to that site, an 18 gauge needle has an inner diameter (lumen) of 0.838 mm. You're asking for the size in microns, which is a depreciated unit equal to 1 x 10 -6 meters. The unit in current usage is the micrometer. (µm)
One mm is equal to 1000 µm. Accordingly, 0.838 mm is equal to 838 µm.

Hi,
How about internal and external diameters for plastic cannulas (which come with needles to aid insertion)?
I'm looking for the smallest cannula in the world and it's internal and external dimensions if anyone has any suggestions!
It's for eye surgery.

ISO 10555 Part 5 will give you all the dimensions of the outside tubing.
