No, one million is 10^6 in both the US and UK.
There is some debate over larger numbers like billion and trillion. In the US, billion = 10^9, trillion = 10^12. Historically in the UK, billion was 10^12, but some UK publications now use the American billion. I really don't know if the change is official or not. UK usage of billion is ambiguous.
