Hi
does anybody know the standard procedure for making heparinized saline solutions. How do you mix these two: heparin and saline
Heparin=1000usp/ml
Saline=0.9%
How do i mix these pls include example if possible

At our clinic we use 10 units heparin per ml of saline for our heparinized saline solution. To prepare this we mix 1 ml of heparin 10,000 units per ml in 1000ml saline. Since your heparin is only 1000 units per ml you would need 10 ml in 1000ml saline.
