linear feet to acreage

Postby darlene brown » Tue Sep 26, 2006 10:18 pm

Can you tell me how much property (acre) is in the following linear feet?

The property is a pie shape.

237.74'
252.48'
237.74'

wondering how many square feet is involved and if this is actually an acre of property.

thanks
darlene brown

I get 25432 sq ft or 0.58 acre.

Solution: Use Heron's formula,
Given three sides, a, b, c
Form s = 0.5(a + b + c)
then area K = SQRT(s*(s-a)*(s-b)*(s-c))
