Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,

Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

Thank you for being with us and sorry for any inconveniences this could caused.

Javascript or formulas for spreadsheets and web documents

Postby Mister B » Sat Feb 10, 2007 6:37 am

I am working on a format for some technical/product data sheets and thought how can I make my product lierature the point of reference for comparison.
It occured to me that having active conversion boxes resident on my web-based product data sheets would make my pages a utility.

Obviously something like this would have to be a subscriber service, with an innocuous courtesy statement "results provided by Convert-Me.Com"
For an upgrade you could supply "drop-in" spreadsheet formulas for excel
and javascript for other apps.

A service like this might also make my pages useful to my end user as I could have my product data covert consumption requirements to number of units or vice versa. And cycle between metric and US.

Most of this I can probably do myself in excel and drop into an Acrobat pdf but having an online source for drag and drop conversions would be cool and very handy.

You are not exactly my homepage but you are in my favorites and there is a shortcut on my desktop. Why hasn't Google bought you yet?

Thank you for the feedback.

Have you checked our convert-me.com gadget that you can place on your site? It might be what you are looking for, at least partially. If you are interested, it would be possible to provide more customization for the gadget, including the list of units and measurements that are provided.

It would also be possible to design a customized conversion form for your site. Please let me know if you're interested. You can e-mail me to suggest@convert-me.com
