Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,

Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

Thank you for being with us and sorry for any inconveniences this could caused.

The cooking conversion is exactly what I was looking for but you might want to cheak you metric cup measurements

ie 1 metric cup = 250 gms or ml not 200
or 0.25 kilogram or litre

how does this effect the conversion into us measurements?

The actual value of "cup" differs as "cup" is not a strict measure. The size of a cup is not oficially defined anywhere. In the sources I deal with the size of a cup is more often defined equal to 0.2 litre.

If you need to use a cup that is 0.25 litre, yiou can use the following conversion:

When converting from cups to anythings else, first multiply your value by 1.25. Then enter the figure next to "cup" unit in our converter.

When converting from something else to cups, first use our converter to get the answer in 0.2l cups. Then you can convert it to 0.25l cups by dividing the figure by 1.25.
