First you'd have to find out the density of the substance you're looking for. This would be in units of mass/volume. Then take the multiply the two together, and you'll get just a mass measurement. After that, use this helpful site to convert it to whatever mass units you want.
For instance, you have 20 cubic ft of sodium hydroxide (NaOH), which has a density of .1657 lb/ft^3.
20 ft^3 * (.1657 lb/ft^3) = 3.314 lbs / 2000 lb/ton = .001657 tons NaOH.
