CPM is also used RIGHT NOW to measure GAMMA radionucleides. An EPA gamma detection station, RadNet, near here, is measuring 5000 Counts per minute constantly for the past month of a particular radionucleide, and also 8 other radionucleides that range from 100 to 2000 cpm.
These high counts started after the nuclear explosions at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Mid March 2011.
We have a right to know what the meaurements are of radioactive isotopes existing in our foods, and what the safe limit is, TECHNICALLY, there is no safe limit when it comes to radioactive isotopes because a single atom can begin an irreversible reaction within our bodies leading to various cancers.
