I was going to post a "similar' question but instead, I would like to elaborate...
How many "drops" of a typical 5w30 or 10w30 motor oil are in a quart of engine oil.
As a mechanic, I have seen many engine oil leaks such as cam and crank seal that tend to be continuous and relatively steady varying only with temperature and oil pressure. I can easily tell a customer that it drips one drop per minute but when they ask how long before I have to add a quart of oil, I find myself a bit perplexed.
I think this has long been a curiosity that I have never been able to find any credible answer to.
