Ppm can be stated on a weight, volume, or mole fraction basis. The results are generally different according to which basis is used.

We only have info to do by volume, but a solid that dissolves in a liquid would probably be stated on weight/weight basis. Never mind.

2 gallons is 256 fl oz
1 teaspoon is 1/6 fl oz, 1/4 teaspoon is 1/24 fl oz

So 1/4 teaspoon in 2 gallons is 1/24 floz / 256 fl oz or 0.000163, or 163 ppm.

1/2 teaspoon is 326, and 1 teaspoon is 651. That's in the 2 gallon bucket, not in the swimming pool.

Thank you! This is for sanitizing solutions for temporary food facilities. They are required to have 100 ppm chlorine solutions for sanitizing. It is easier for them to understand teaspoons-per-gallon than it is to understand parts-per-million.
