Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,
Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

is it possible to convert volume to weight

My parents and i dissagree on this matter i think its imposible because you can have the same volume of a different material and it would not weigh the same but they say because onces are used in both volume and weight it is possible

You are right, weight to volume conversion is not possible in general since the same volume of various substances could weigh differently. On the other hand, for a particular substance you can convert from volume to weight. For example 1 liter of water weighs 1 kilogram.
In general to convert from volume to weight or vica versa you need to know the density or specific gravity of the substance being converted.
