One newton is equal to 0.22481 pound-force (lbf). One foot is equal to 0.3048 meters. Using this info:
Code: Select all
1 n | 0.22481 lbf | 0.3048 m
----|-------------|---------
 m  |      n      |    ft
Now cancel n over n, and m over m to yield:
1 · 0.22481 lbf · 0.3048
---------------------------
ft

for 0.0685 lbf/ft per Nm.

This conversion is wrong, Torque is Ft-Lbs not Ft/Lbs.

The correct conversion is (N-m)*.7376 = Ft Lbs

Or, one could use the torque converter on this very website:
http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert/torque

By plugging in 1 FtLb and converting,
1 FtLb = 12 InLb =1.35582 Nm

How about just dividing newton meters by 1.3558 to get your ft. lb. ?
