Hi all,

Ive just joined partnership with my sister inlaw in the importation of perfumes via shipment.

I am very confident in the business side of things, but when it comes to converting the amount of perfume bottles to a cubic meter i need help!! :roll:

ill give you an example;

15ml perfume bottle is the going weight of our products, but there are also other weight bottles in the shipments. can any one help me please.
there is also the packaging of the bottles how do we account for that??
This might sound silly :oops: but do i have to measure each bottle in cubic metre form?? or is there an easier way??

My suggestion:

Fill a beaker with water to a know level. Drop in a filled bottle (Filled with water or perfume, it wont matter, you just want it to sink.) Measure how may ml of water it displaces. Convert that directly to cubic centimeters.

That will give you the displacement, and hence the volume of the bottle. To figure its packaging, you might try creating a solid box of the same size as the bottle and its packaging. Perhaps wrapping a packaged bottle in cellophane and submerging it might work long enought to get an idea of its displacement.
