Dear convert-me.com forum visitors,

Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

MCF stand for 1,000 cubic feet of gas.

so 290694 MCF = 290 694 000 cubic feet of gas (ft3)

mass = volume * density

You have a volume and you want a mass, so you must obtain natural gas density to find the response.

The natural gas density depend of the pressure and temperature of the gas according the gas law PV=MRT we find that density = M/V = P/RT. Without this data it's hard to find real density.

I found here: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/gas-density-d_158.html that density of natural gas at 1 atm and 0 deg C (32 deg F) is between 0.044 - 0.056 lbm/ft3.

So mass = 290 694 000 ft3 * 0.044 lbm/ft3 = 12 790 536 lbm of natural gas.

This is an example, find the pressure and temperature of the gas and you will have a more precise response.
