Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.

convert sqare feet to linear feet

I need to figure the linear feet for a fence to go around a playground that need to meet specific guidelines which are 75 square feet per child.. There is a total of 30 children. So 75 sq ft x 30 kids = 2250 sq ft...right??? I need the linear feet..HELP!!!

To calculate the length of one side of the "square" area, take the square root of 2250 sq. ft., which is 47.43. Add all the sides: 47.43*4=189.74 linear feet.
You probably don't have a nice, neat square area to work with so divide 2250 sq. ft. by the length you do have, then add all four sides. Example:
You have a piece of property you can use that has a side length of 50 feet.
2250/50=45 feet, so: (50*2)+(45*2)=190 linear feet of fence.
