I need to Convert Gallons to Pounds.
My product weights= 1 gallon weighs 5 lbs. But I don’t think that it is working, I think that something is wrong. Because when I try to brake down say 55 gallons that weighs 400 lbs,(not of my product, this is with the gallons, some say the maximum weight) and 30 gallons-300lbs and 15 gallons-225. There is no common denominator, at least that I can find. Can some one please help me. Math is not my thing and I am stuck. And need this for work ASAP.
So any help would be greatly appreciated. It’s Monday Jun, 27th/2005.

Different materials have different densities (weight per unit volume). A gallon of feathers and a gallon of lead shot obviously have different weight.
UNless you know the density, you can't make conversions between volume and weight. For solids that are ground, powdered, pelletized, the density can depend on how it is prepared, and vary substantially. When in doubt, weight a sample of known volume.
