Our forum has been available for many years. In September 2014 we decided to switch it to read-only mode. Month after month we saw less posts with questions and answers from real people and more spam posts. We were spending more and more resources cleaning the spam until there were less them 1 legitimate message per 100 spam posts. Then we decided it's time to stop.
All the posts in the forum will be available and searchable. We understand there are a lot of useful information and we aren't going to remove anything. As for the new questions, you can always ask them on convert-me.com FaceBook page

Buying river rock...cu yards and tons

We did a price check on river rock that we will be purchasing within the month. One place quoted us the price of $35 a cu yard and the other is $25 for a ton. Which is cheaper? I'm thinking $25/ ton because we bought mulch there and it was at least half the price of the mulch at the other place and they seem to have reseanable prices with other stuff. Just wanted to be sure. Help!

From what I've found on the Web, the average guess is that there are about 3/4 of a cubic yard per ton of rock.
SO....
1 Yard³ = 1.33 Ton = $35.00
SO:
$35.00/ Yard / 1.33 Yards/ton = 26.32/Ton
$25.00 = 1 Ton
I'd say that buying by the ton is the winner.
