Hi,
I need help converting Kg/cm to N/mm2. I realize they are different types of measurement and cannot normally be compared. However, I have two different tensile strength test results, one in Kg/cm and one in N/mm2. (both from adidas) The sample is 3.00mm thick and 25.54mm wide.
If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

kg/cm2 convert to N/mm2 and vice versa

Dear jon
You can convert N/mm2 to Kg/cm2 by multiplying the value in N/mm2 by 10.194
For converting Kg/cm2 to N/mm2 you can divide the value in Kg/cm2 to 10.194
Tip: as a thumb rule each N/mm2 equals to 10 Kg/cm2, thus you can multiple the value in N/mm2 by 10 to convert it to Kg/cm2.
You can convert N/mm2 to Kg/cm2 by multiplying the value in N/mm2 by 10.194

I assume you mean 23.9 kgf/cm2 to Megapascal.
23.9 kgf/cm2 * 0.0980665 = 2.34 Mpa (Megapascal)

How do I work out support area using the following formula
Support area A (cm2) = Supporting force F (N)

It is very to convert kg/cm to N/mm2.
Please check this
1 KG=9.81 N
1mm= 0.1cm
1sqmm= 0.1x.01 cm=.02sqcm
1n/sqmm=490kg/sqcm
If you start using this formulas to calcualte the counts, it would be pretty easy for you to handle.
