In general, you divide by the density.
The density of water varies slightly with temperature, but at maximum density (4 degrees C), it is 1 g/mL, so 1200 g = 1200 mL = 1.2 L. At any other temperature, it would be slightly more. You can find density in references like the Handbook of Chemistry & Physics
