My dog is allowed to have .1 mg per kg of body weight of alazopram for anxiety.
He weighs 10 lbs.
The pills I have are 1 mg pills (not .1)
Can someone PLEASE help me out with these conversions!
THANKS
Leslie
0.1 mg x 10 = 1 mg, so 1 pill.
Check the dose. It is 0.1 mg/kg. The 10 lb dog weighs about 4.5 kg, and should have 0.45 mg. Probably cut the pill in half, and don't round up any dust that results from cutting the pill.
Guest (John?) is right, I stand corrected.
This is the reason I answer very few medication questions and the
number 1 reason people shouldn't rely on answers for medication over the internet, especially for human doses. I work with numbers and volumes almost everyday but it just takes one mis-read of a question to give a wrong answer. Unfortunately, a wrong answer could result in dire consequences.
Thanks for the correction.
