how do i convert the grams of sugar given as ingredients on labels into the amount of teaspoons the sugar it equals?

In general, you can search the USDA database at this website:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/
However, for white, granulated sugar, it gives
1 teaspoon = 4.2 g
1 cup = 200. g
as approximate conversions of customary servings to grams.
