If a 16ft round swimming pool holds 5061 gallons of water. And 1/8 of a gallon equals 1 pound. Would 8 x 5061 which equals 40,488 pounds be the total weight of the water in the pool?
Would a poured cement basement floor be able to withstand the pressure?

Water weighs closer to 8.34 lb/gal. Calculating the area, I get 210 lb/sq ft. That is high enough I would think you need to know the thickness of the slab, how much rebar is embedded in it etc. I would tend to think no, or it is marginal.
