I have no real medical training, so please regard this as a tentative answer. However, my son is diabetic. When he was younger, we had to measure and inject his doses.
My understanding is that it varies and is included in the "name", U-xxx, where the xxx is the number of "units" per milliliter. Most common in the US is U-100, 100 units per mL. It does come in a few different strengths, with the idea of a "reasonable" size dose volume so it is easy to measure in syringe.
