How do I convert from SCFM to PSI?

Postby umbram » Sun Mar 27, 2005 7:01 am

I just installed a zero air generator and it calls for me suppling 5 SCFM out of it. Well I have a regulator and a gauge that measures PSI on the output and need to know how many psi to set the regulator at for 5 SCFH. Any help would be appreciated.

PSI & SCFM are not interchangeable terms.
PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) measures pressure.
SCFM (Square Cubic Feet per Minute) measures volume.

You will need a gauge that measures volume for this task. I use a Dwyer Model #HFA-1-12 that measures from 2-12 SCFM. It is also rated to handle pressures up to 600 PSI (handle...not measure).
