1 liter is 1 cubic decimeter, that is 100 mm x 100 mm x 100 mm. (I assume the shape is a rectangular solid).
Easiest way is to express the dimensions in decimeters first, 4.5 dm x 5 dm by 12.5 dm, result is 281.25 dm^3, or 281.25 L.
You could multiply the dimensions in millimeters, and convert after, but the numbers are smaller and can be done roughly in your head using the method above.
